Dr. Richard Kao specializes in treating patients requiring cosmetic or reconstructive surgery of the face. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. He then attended Medical School at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduating with surgical research honors. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. In residency, he continued to receive multiple research honors and was appointed Chief Resident in his final year.
Following residency graduation, Dr. Kao went on to complete a highly prestigious fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under Dr. Dean Toriumi in Chicago, Illinois. He served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Rush University Medical Center.
